MM: How does it work ? CW: Marketers place MyClick ‘Hyper-link Frames’ across real-world media, giving Internet enabled mobile phone users ‘one-click’ access to Mobile Internet Marketing & Services.”

MM: What’s with the ‘G’ ? CW: “The G in our name relates to the intelligent mobile products we offer for the new Generation of mobile technologies, i.e. 2.5G, 3G and of course Telstra’s ‘Next G’.

Next up, mBlox wants to take you to the USA !
Brian K. Johnson, mBlox Senior Vice President, Americas and Asia Pacific has flown in specially to give us for an in-depth review of mobile business in one of the world’s most dynamic mobile markets.
Brian: “Recent operator changes in the US have greatly expanded business opportunities for Content Providers. Improvements in the billability of customers, reduction in refunds and strong evolution in the types of programs that are accepted are signs increased market stability and maturity. To take advantage of these changes and understand the impact they could have on your business please join us at Mobile Monday in Sydney!

In our second event for 2008, Mobile Monday Sydney is mixing things up a bit with a fun and fabulous night of mobile video. Its been a while since we took a look at this area and we’re keen to see what’s been cooking in this era of near-ubiquitous 3G networks and a strong audience participation culture…

First up, check out the H.264-based Xenon Streaming Platform as demonstrated by Shaun Dobbin, Product Manager Mobile Content at TeleResources:
Teleresources logo
“With ever faster networks, new generations of mobile phones, and intense competitive pressure, delivering high quality video has become a critical offering for mobile operators.PCCW’s award winning MOOV on mobile music service gives consumers the ability to subscribe to a music library of more than 100,000 songs. The MOOV service is powered by Vidiator and our demo will show the high quality of video provided by the latest generation of codecs along with the ease with which text and image editing can be accomplished ‘on the fly’.”

Next, let’s tackle 3G-to-TV! Frank Lodewick, Sales and Marketing Manager at Gravity will present their Interactive Video solution, at the core of the 3G-to-TV program “Vidcast” launched by Optus/MTV.
Gravity logo
Gravity has positioned itself as a developer of cutting edge technologies for user interaction across mobile, internet and broadcast media. The launch of 3G-to-TV clearly demonstrates what that means: you now can use your mobile to be seen on TV! This is the start of a very exciting year. I am sure you will agree when you see the kind of concepts we can now introduce into Australia.

Also welcoming YCOAM
You Can On A Mobile
Angus Beattie from the “You Can On A Mobile” campaign will also be dropping by to give us an update on progress, activities and first results.

Mobile Monday Sydney is proud to announce our first event for 2008!

With Web 2.0, the era of participation has spawned a whole new generation of web-based communities and hosted services - from social-networking sites with embedded widgets and social applications to wikis and folksonomies - a set of meshing behaviours and technologies bringing a whole new meaning to the idea of people facilitating, collaborating and sharing.

Mobile services are also evolving in line with web 2.0 - and Forum Nokia wants to share their ideas with us about how the latest mobile applications and services are allowing users to connect and share on a whole new level. From advertising and infotainment, to gaming and user-generated multimedia content, come and “explore how the future of the mobile is set to change with this shift in user behaviour in 2008″.

Featuring

  • Gary Chan, developer, technopreneur, product and brand manager, operator and now managing developer relationships and business development for Nokia Asia Pacific. Gary has first-hand experience in the ecosystem of creating and commercializing mobile products and services in his more than 10 years of experience in the telecommunications and Internet industries.
  • and a panel of leading mobile development companies - stay tuned for more details.

October 2007 Mobile Pathways Event Wrapup

Monday, October 15th, 2007

A terrific night was had by all this last October 2nd, with three ADMA MMA 2007 award winners (Aura Interactive, Communicator Interactive and SoundBuzz) in a panel with event sponsor QMCODES discussing and debating the lengths clients and their partners will go to to provide a natural, seamless on-ramp to end-user handsets.

Universal themes - and interesting insights :-

  • permission is everything - users don’t want to be marketed at;
  • value is vital - provide something people want;
  • seamless simplicity - make sure everything just works;
  • location is vital - launch context is super-important with mobile;

Get all the above right and the rewards will follow :-

All this augers well for event sponsor QMCODES who since launching their i-nigma reader and SmartCodes service on the night…

  • are scheduled to show at OMD’s Out-of-Home exhibition;
  • have been selected by MEDIACOM to help run an upcoming mobile campaign for Fosters.

An astute questioner on the night also suggested that the i-nigma technology was currently being trialled by more than one local carrier - which QMCODES CEO Antony refused to confirm. If true, that could be a great accelerant for future SmartCode-based campaigns which can ‘make print media interactive’.

Until next time !

:: Monday 2nd July 2007)
:: 6.30pm for 7pm kickoff!

:: The Shelbourne Hotel, 200 Sussex St
(corner of Market & Sussex streets)

With a 3G user base now passing the 3 million user mark, we decided Mobile Monday Sydney should refocus on the much kicked-about topic of Mobile TV and ask…
- How is mobile TV going to evolve over the next 12 months?
- How’s Broadcast Australia’s DVB-H trial going ?
- Why are content offerings still so limited ?
- Are FREE-to-all off-deck advertiser-backed services ever going to appear?
…and lots more.

We’ve got some very special guests in our panel :-

- Martin Farrimond, GM Mobile TV at Broadcast Australia
- Anthony Ward, Group MD Media & Entertainment at TBS Group
- Ben Kinealy, GM TV Mobile & Broadband, Telstra Bigpond
- Chris Noone, Group Mobile Director, NineMSN
